During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Heidelberg University Hospital, the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg, and the Bergstraße Breast Center are sending a visible message of solidarity. Under the motto “PINKTOBER – Together Against Breast Cancer!”, Heidelberg Castle and Starkenburg Castle in Heppenheim will be lit up in pink, making hope visible far and wide.

The illumination is accompanied by a diverse program:

• Free informational events in Heidelberg and Heppenheim,
• Exhibition “It’s All About Perspective!”
• Pinktober educational projects in schools
• Pinktober walking tour
• Patient Day

The MLP Academics Heidelberg and the USC BasCats Heidelberg are also participating on three home game days in October, sending a strong message of breast cancer awareness and social commitment.

The goal of all these activities is to raise awareness of breast cancer, highlight the importance of early detection, and empower those affected. Pink symbolizes visibility, knowledge, and solidarity.
