In addition to high-quality medical care, patients also need emotional support, psychosocial guidance, and practical orientation in everyday life. This is precisely where the donation projects of the Pinktober campaign come in.

The focus is on initiatives that strengthen patients, relieve families, and help professionals better address the specific needs of those affected by breast cancer.

These include:

• Pinkcafé at Heidelberg University Hospital – a safe meeting space for exchange, support, and information
• Breast Cancer Guides at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg, who provide individualized support to patients through the different phases of therapy
• EmpowerCare – educational videos for breast cancer patients that enhance confidence and autonomy in handling therapy and noticeably improve quality of life
• Therapeutic Children’s Group at the Breast Center Bergstraße (BZB), which sensitively supports children of breast cancer patients
