A breast cancer diagnosis brings many challenges – physical, emotional, and social. Beyond medical treatment, patients above all need one thing: a space for pausing, exchanging with others affected, and the feeling of not being alone.

This is exactly what the Pinkcafé at Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) offers. In a respectful and supportive atmosphere, the Pinkcafé gives breast cancer patients the opportunity to come together over coffee and cake, share experiences, and strengthen one another. The meetings are accompanied by experienced breast care nurses, medical staff, and additional support services from psycho-oncology.

The Pinkcafé is more than a meeting point – it is a safe space where worries have room, questions can be voiced openly, and mutual support emerges. The conversations are complemented by thematic inputs and talks, for example on nutrition, exercise, sexuality during and after therapy, side effects, and coping strategies for everyday life.
